Backstage Pass from Aachen, Germany ~ September 1, 2014There was a full house tonight in Aachen, Germany. It has been five years since Roger’s first concert here with the Symphonic Orchestra of Aachen and what a spectacular return! The rains from the past two days stopped and the park was full of families, good friends, food, and great music. People came from literally all over the world for this show. During the intermission I met fans from Montreal, France, Switzerland, and many other countries. The conductor, Volker Hiemeyer, was having just as much fun as Roger on stage! Roger performed many of his classics as well as several fan favorites such as Only Because of You and Babaji. At the end of the show, the audience of 5000 refused to leave! Roger started playing Breakfast in America again and he invited the whole crowd to sing along with him. What a great singalong and what a mutual love affair with Germany! A wonderful time was had by all.Our next show will be in Hanau, Germany on Wednesday and then we head to Gibraltar where on Saturday Roger will close out his European tour for 2014. Just two more shows in Europe for this year! It has been a great tour and we have made many more new friends along the way. We thank you for your support and invite you to leave Roger a message and share some of your experiences of seeing him live in concert. LindaPhoto by Arndt Fleischer

Backstage Pass from Alzey, Germany ~ August 30, 2014What a cool city Alzey is! The surrounding area is so pretty, with green farm land and vineyards nearby. Tonight’s sold out show was at the Dacapo-AlzeyFestival, celebrating its 18th year. It is put on by city for their citizens and as marketing for the city. What a setting! The concert was held in the castle courtyard square with Roger’s dressing room in the city court building. It’s a cozy venue – an intimate little square inside the castle walls with gorgeous century-old trees overhanging. The crowd packed in. They could see Roger and the band come down the stairs to the waiting area backstage and they let out a loud cheer. The very enthusiastic and respectful fans were listening intently during the show and everyone was in great spirits. Standing audiences are great - more engaged and awake. It was fun to watch them from the little side balcony - arms in the air, heads bobbing to Child of Vision; jumping up and down during It’s Raining Again. After the show, Roger was welcomed by the Mayor and his family. All the people from Alzey were so pleased and proud to host Roger here. Before we left the venue, they were already asking for us to come back! We certainly hope to.We will see you Monday in Aachen at Kurpark Classix where Roger will be performing with a symphony orchestra and his band. Linda and ShaktiPhoto by Howard Heckers

Backstage Pass from Leipzig, Germany ~ August 29, 2014What a beautiful summer night we had tonight in Leipzig, Germany at theParkbühne im Clara Zetkin Park. The grounds of this magical park setting are gorgeous and it was so nice to be at an open-air venue surrounded by trees and in the fresh air. The show started at twilight and at nighttime we were under a sky filled with stars. The audience was very appreciative of having Roger performing and showed deep appreciation for his music. The enthralled listeners were captivated by Roger’s exquisite sounds. Friends and strangers joined together drinking in the music and the memories and seemed so relaxed and happy while singing. At the end of the show, the crowd refused to let Roger leave the stage. After performing Fool’s Overture, Roger and his band came back on stage for his encore of Give a Little Bit and It’s Raining Again. After thunderous applause that simply would not end, Roger delighted his audience with a stunning performance of Babaji. Afterwards, the audience broke into an enduring chant and Roger gave them a grand finale of Hide in Your Shell. What a night. We certainly hope to return.Next stop - Alzey. See you at Dacapo-Alzey tomorrow night!Linda Photo by Linda Tyler

Backstage Pass from Aurich, Germany ~ August 28, 2014It’s so wonderful to be back in Germany again with Roger and his band and audiences who have grown up listening to his songs and passing them down to their children. As I walked into the venue here in Aurich during intermission, I saw many people that I have seen at shows throughout Europe over the years. I thought it was a really good show and this was confirmed by all the comments that I heard as I walked down the aisle. Many were saying, “wow, it just keeps getting better,” “the sound is so clear,” “his voice is so strong,” “I felt 17 again,” and beyond that there were many smiles from all! We’re off on the tour bus to Leipzig to do it again tomorrow!Linda Photo by Linda Tyler
